The USC Trojans defeated themselves, 76-68, in their annual intrasquad scrimmage held Sunday afternoon at the Galen Center. Freshman guard OJ Mayo scored a game-high 34 points and added six steals and four assists to lead the victorious Cardinal team over the Gold squad. The latter group was led by F Davon Jefferson and G […]

While it does appear that the better football team won Saturday afternoon in Eugene, where the fifth-ranked Oregon Ducks (7-1, 4-1) were 24-17 victors over the ninth-ranked USC Trojans (6-2, 3-2), the underdog Trojans nevertheless appeared at one point to have a good chance at the upset. But each time momentum swung to USC, the […]

Sure, playing against arguably the worst team in the nation may have had something to do with it, but the Trojans were able to right their ship after three sub-par weeks to play perhaps their best game of the season in a 38-0 victory over Notre Dame (1-6) in South Bend. Saturday’s win marks the […]

It wasn’t always pretty, and the dynamic, high-scoring USC of old seems to be a distant memory, but the tenth-ranked Trojans (5-1, 3-1) managed a 20-13 victory over the Arizona Wildcats (2-5, 1-3) on Saturday afternoon at the Coliseum, recovering from a 13-10 fourth-quarter deficit and rebounding from a painful upset loss to Stanford last […]

Top-ranked USC had no problem disposing of Pac-10 rivals Stanford on Saturday in Los Angeles, winning as expected in dominating fashion. Of course, that was in water polo. (Congrats to the Trojans for a strong 7-2 victory over the third-ranked Cardinal.) Football was another story, as the unranked Cardinal, who entered the Coliseum as 40-point […]

USC’s fourth-ranked women’s volleyball team fell to 14-2 (3-2 in the Pac-10) on Friday with a loss to crosstown rivals UCLA. The fifth-ranked Bruins (14-2, 4-1) took three out of four games from the Trojans, and earned the first five points in the 2007-08 “Lexus Gauntlet” competition between the two schools.

On a cold, windy and wet evening in Seattle, the top-ranked Trojans played perhaps their worst game of the season, losing three key players to injury, enduring a lackluster performance by their quarterback, failing to hold onto the ball, and committing an astounding number of penalties against a tough Pac-10 opponent. The result? Another USC […]

Unlike last year’s contest, which wasn’t decided until the game’s final play, this year’s matchup between USC and Washington State (in each team’s Pac-10 opener) was decided before halftime, with the Trojans cruising to an easy 47-14 victory at the Coliseum. The Trojans showed impressive balance, with the ability to move the ball efficiently through […]

USC’s 18-point victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday night in Lincoln, Nebraska was a very different game than last year’s contest decided by an equal margin. Although there were some nervous moments in the early going when the Cornhuskers pulled ahead 10-7 and the Trojans seemed to be self-destructing with careless ball-handling and stupid […]

The Trojan mens basketball team was actually able to get in a game of basketball during their problem-plagued exhibition trip to Mexico this weekend, defeating Mexican professional team Caballeros de Sinaloa on Saturday night by a score of 102-82 behind 29 points by freshman forward Davon Jefferson and another 29 from freshman guard OJ Mayo.
