Women of Troy are soccer national champs

USC picked up its first ever national championship in women’s soccer on Sunday when the second-seeded Women of Troy edged third-seeded Florida State, 2-0, in College Station, Texas. It was a tournament record-setting fifth shutout for the Trojans, and their 15th shutout overall this season under first-year head coach Ali Khosroshahin. USC finished the season at 20-3-2, and it is the first time the Women of Troy have advanced beyond the second round of the NCAA tournament.
