Thursday notes: Baker returns to action
The Trojans have Friday and Saturday off, and kick off four straight days of practice on Sunday, followed by a trip to Tempe, Arizona to play the 9th-ranked Sun Devils on Thanksgiving evening. On Thursday, the team held an intra-squad scrimmage after a full-contact practice, which gave almost the entire roster a chance to play, including quarterback John David Booty, who had rested during other practices this week.
Also returning to practice was OT Sam Baker, who was spotted in (limited) action for the first time in quite a while. He is now expected to play in the Arizona State game. Injured linebacker Keith Rivers (ankle) is still wearing a protective boot, but he may return to practice as soon as Sunday.
Note that the Oregon Ducks’ upset loss to Arizona on Thursday night means that the Trojans’ road to the Rose Bowl is now tougher. They will need to defeat ASU and UCLA and hope that the Ducks lose one more game.
