Rivers doubtful for ASU game
LB Keith Rivers suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday night’s victory in Berkeley, the team announced on Sunday. Right now, he appears to be doubtful for the Trojans’ next game (one week from Thursday against Arizona State), although he hasn’t officially been ruled out and probably won’t be until next week.
Fellow linebacker Clay Matthews was also injured during the Cal game, breaking a bone in his hand for the second time this season. (It was neither the same bone nor the same hand, however.) Matthews, unlike Rivers, is expected to play against the Sun Devils, albeit wearing a cast.
