Wednesday notes: No Baker this week
As the Trojans continued their preparations for Saturday’s matchup against #24 Cal in Berkeley, we learned the following:
- LT Sam Baker (hamstring) is definitely out for Saturday’s game. Butch Lewis again worked with the starting unit in his place, with Charles Brown backing him up.
- We now know the significance of freshman RB Broderick Green reaggravating his foot injury earlier this week: he will not practice again this season.
- Pete Carroll indicated that he expects CB Vincent Joseph, who was suspended by the athletic department for academic reasons, to be available for the Cal game. Joseph practiced with the team on Wednesday, at one point leveling FB Stanley Havili.
- DT Sedrick Ellis was named one of 15 semifinalists for the Bednarik Award on Wednesday. The award will be presented on December 4th to the nation’s top defensive player as determined by the Maxwell Football Club.
