Freshman center might need surgery

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Freshman center Mamadou Diarra may have sustained a hernia during Monday’s practice, the Times reports today. Doctors will examine the 7-footer tomorrow and determine if the injury requires surgery, which would sideline Diarra for at least a month. If surgery is necessary and rehabilitation drags on for much longer than that, the Trojans could choose […]

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Quarterback controversy? Not according to USC’s coaching staff. Pete Carroll reiterated in his weekly press conference on Tuesday that, without question, if John David Booty proves he’s fully recovered from his finger injury this week in practice, he will replace Mark Sanchez as the starting quarterback on Saturday. Booty took almost all of the first-team […]

Would-be Reggie Bush business associate Lloyd Lake filed a civil lawsuit against the former Trojan tailback in a San Diego court on Tuesday, claiming that Bush and his family accepted almost $300,000 in gifts (including cash) while still attending USC. SC Hoops will live and die with their freshmen

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

USC’s loss to Oregon on Saturday resulted in another drop in each of the college football polls, although not quite as far as you may have expected (perhaps because national voters are finally beginning to recognize the Ducks as a very good team). The Trojans now find themselves at #13 in the AP and Harris […]

Recap: (5) Oregon 24, (9) USC 17

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

While it does appear that the better football team won Saturday afternoon in Eugene, where the fifth-ranked Oregon Ducks (7-1, 4-1) were 24-17 victors over the ninth-ranked USC Trojans (6-2, 3-2), the underdog Trojans nevertheless appeared at one point to have a good chance at the upset. But each time momentum swung to USC, the […]

Final pre-game roundup: USC at Oregon

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

For the first time since its 2001 game against UCLA, the Trojans are underdogs (currently +3) in a Pac-10 game today.
