Time: a little slow to the Boatright party?
Sean Gregory of Time Magazine, hardly on the cutting edge of this story, profiles USC’s 14-year-old, 138 lb. hoops commit Ryan Boatright of East Aurora High (outside Chicago) as part of a larger story on ” the latest alarming trend in the often shady game of college-sports recruiting: coaches offering scholarships to athletes very early in their schoolboy (and schoolgirl) careers.” Oh my! You don’t say! For such a young student athlete, Ryan seems to have the right attitude, owning his “marked man” status:
I like the pressure. I feed off it. I hear all the negative stuff, I just add another workout. I’ll make them feel stupid in the end.
