Galippo to have back surgery

USC is reporting this afternoon that, as feared, freshman LB Chris Galippo will have back surgery next week, after being diagnosed today with a herniated disc. He will miss the remainder of the season, but will almost certainly be granted a medical redshirt and come back next season with four years of eligibility remaining.
