Game day traffic/parking warning
We’ve seen this warning posted with increasing detail and frequency as the week has progressed, so it is worth passing along to those of you going to tomorrow’s USC-Idaho game who haven’t seen it: Allow even more time than normal to get to the game–including in your car and on foot from your car to the Coliseum. In addition to ongoing construction projects at both museums in Exposition Park (which have temporarily eliminated some parking and pedestrian access there), construction of the new Exposition Light Rail Line is impacting traffic on Exposition Boulevard, severely restricting traffic (down to one lane in some areas) between Vermont and Figueroa. These conditions should persist throughout the season. Note that there will also be construction along Flower over the course of the next year, which at times will also affect traffic going to the Parking Center and the Galen Center.
Note that if you arrive really early, and don’t have a tailgate party to attend, the Western lobby of the Sports Arena will once again be open to the public, with a full bar and televisions showing other games.
