Trojan linebackers: “Our goal is to be dominant.”
In a piece so dripping with hyperbole that you might think it was written by a Trojan booster, Eric Prisbell of The Washington Post profiles the USC linebackers unit, focusing on the big three starting group - Cushing, Maualuga, and Rivers - and their outspoken coach Ken Norton, Jr., who wants his linebackers to instill fear in offenses by, as Norton states,
being complete masters and dominating forces on the field, and all that is intimidating…We really try to capture that. It’s almost like Mike Tyson. Sometimes he didn’t even have to fight — he intimidated his opponent before it happened. We would like to get to that point.
