In his first weekly press conference of the season, Pete Carroll indicated that RB CJ Gable would likely get the start against Idaho. As for the injured backs:

• Freshman Joe McKnight is practicing in pads today for the first time in over a week, and will get some playing time on Saturday.
• Freshman Marc Tyler has been cleared by the medical staff to play on September 1st. That doesn’t necessarily mean that we will not still redshirt this season.

Also mentioned at the press conference: Kyle Moore will indeed be sharing time with freshman Everson Griffen at defensive end on Saturday. And injured backup QB Mark Sanchez should be ready to go in time for the Nebraska game.
