Spanos injured in practice

Several sources are reporting that starting center Matt Spanos sustained a possible triceps strain during Tuesday afternoon’s practice. Jeff Byers would get the start against Idaho if Spanos cannot play, although it is too soon to tell if that will be the case. One factor to consider: the Trojans have had numerous problems with fumbled snaps during practices when utilizing non-first-string centers over the past few years.

Starting WR Patrick Turner also was forced to leave practice early with what Scott Wolf is describing as a shoulder stinger (courtesy of Rey Maualuga). The injury is not considered serious, although he will be X-rayed tonight.
