More family ties on basketball team
The Los Angeles Times has a short report on USC’s newly-hired director of basketball operations, Dwayne Polee. The former Pepperdine star is expected to help with recruiting, and his presence should help cement the very early commitment of one local athlete: Westchester High sophomore Dwayne Polee Jr.

The fact that SC will have both Polee, Jr. and Hackett without having to use a scholarship on either is interesting. Both fathers seem qualified for their respective jobs, but I would guess that there will be quite a bit of skepticism from the outside observer. But Floyd is a stand-up guy. Who cares what the media says? They already had a field day with his accepting the verbal from the 8th-grader.
