Maisel profiles Patrick Turner

ESPN’s Ivan Maisel details junior WR Patrick Turner’s journey from the number #1 high school receiver in the nation through two years of waiting behind future NFL second-rounders Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarrett and finally to becoming the leader of the receiving corps, someone who knows the offense better than any player in the program not named Booty or Sanchez. Turner describes what he learned as an understudy to three great SC receivers:

I just soaked everything in I could from those guys, whenever I could…Steve had great routes. He was a smart player. Getting in and out of his break, he was really good at that. He was like a mechanic at his route-running. DJ: catch everything. He’ll go up and get the ball, more like my body type. (Chris) McFoy, he was a great blocker, a tough player.

Turner poised to be next in long line of great Trojan receivers (ESPN)
