WR Holland dismissed from team
Trojan Ticker, the USC athletic department blog, is reporting Sunday evening that second-year WR Jamere Holland has been dismissed from the football team. No reason was given. Earlier in the day, Scott Wolf reported that Holland might transfer due to frustration with lack of playing time. The speedy Holland has been plagued by injuries since arriving last season, and redshirted his first season as a Trojan. Wolf also hinted at practice/training attendance issues, but those have not been confirmed by other sources.

Dang. guess those injuries mounted but he was holding out to be a receiver when he has corner written all over him and that’s where, A) we needed him and B) the NFL would take him.
He needs the year to really rehab that groin anyway. With that groin he loses his stock in trade which is speed.
Hope he sticks around and runs track. He could make more money with that than playing football if he gets healthy and disciplined.

He did compete for the track team last year, so it is a possibility–but he doesn’t seem likely to want to give up his football career so soon.
