Greg Woidneck given scholarship

Starting punter Greg Woidneck, a junior, has been granted a scholarship for the 2007 season. Woidneck and WR Brad Walker, both previously walk-ons before receiving the good news this week, likely benefited by the recent departures of scholarship players  DT Walker Lee Ashley and LB Josh Tatum.

Tyler cleared by the NCAA, Green and Carswell to practice

Freshman RB Marc Tyler was officially cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse, it was announced today.  Two other freshmen awaiting clearance by the NCAA, RB Broderick Green and WR Brandon Carswell, are now allowed to practice for the next 14 days while the NCAA reviews their paperwork, something Pete Carroll had urged the Clearinghouse to allow.

Booty added to Manning watchlist

In this installment of our daily report, we recap the coverage of Tuesday’s football practice, which was the second workout of fall training camp. Many players–especially Joe McKnight–are continuing to excel in the early going, although the team experienced its first major injury of the season during the session.
