Thoughts from Fred Davis entering his senior campaign
The Toledo Blade’s Donald Emmons spoke with Toledo-native Fred Davis, the a 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end who is on track to graduate in the spring of ‘08 with a degree in sociology. Davis described the SC program: “You grow up a lot coming here from high school. People look at you differently. Mentally, you’re not thinking about yourself. You’re thinking about your team.” He admitted that the team came out “kind of dry” against UCLA last season, an opponent who “really wanted to play.” Davis also added a few thoughts on Pete Carroll:
Carroll is a different type of coach who likes to have fun but is also very serious. He knows how to get you ready for anything. He wants to always be the best and makes you want to always do the best you can.
