Women’s volleyball coaches pick USC second in Pac-10

The Pac-10 released the results of its preseason women’s volleyball coaches’ poll today, and USC placed second in voting, trailing only Stanford. The Trojans, who finished last season at 27-5, received one first-place vote. They begin play on August 24th, hosting Michigan State at the Galen Center.

Scott Wolf is reporting this morning in his typically detail-deficient fashion that OT Sam Baker is undergoing treatment for strained ligaments in his toe. We haven’t seen that report confirmed elsewhere, and we don’t have any doctors on staff, but we’re guessing that’s not too serious.
