Joe McKnight talks to Rivals

Highly-touted freshman Trojan tailback Joe McKnight is profiled in a USCFootball.com practice report today. The running back told that site’s Zack Lehatto that working out with conditioning coach Chris Carlisle has put him in the best shape of his life, and he has set his 2007 season goals accordingly:

“I’m expecting to reach my goals,” he said. “And my goals are, by the end of camp, be the number one or two on the depth chart at running back.

McKnight added that fellow backs Allen Bradford and Hershel Dennis have been helping him learn the running game, while Vidal Hazelton and Patrick Turner have been aiding him with his receiving skills. Speaking of receiving, apparently every time McKnight lines up as a wideout in practice, the team stops to watch him.

Hey–we made it through an entire McKnight report without once mentioning Reggie Bush.
