DeSean Jackson’s heard enough of the USC hype
Jeff Miller of the Orange County register reports that at least one Pac-10 player, Cal’s elite junior WR DeSean Jackson, heard enough best-team-in-the-country talk in reference to USC at the Pac-10 media day:
I don’t know about all the talk… I mean, they lost all their receivers. They’re a great team, a great program. But separating them from the rest of the conference? That’s uncalled for…They lost last season to Oregon State and UCLA, teams we beat. That shows us right there they can be beaten. And this year, they gotta come to Cal.
Jackson also disputed the notion that the 2007 Trojan squad should be considered the greatest team of all time, responding, “Maybe when they had Reggie Bush and LenDale White. And I wouldn’t even say Matt Leinart. Carson Palmer was the quarterback I liked.”
The greatest ever? (Orange County Register)
