Young, Pruitt finish summer season

Sunday marked the final day of play in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Both recent draftees from USC participated in five games apiece: Nick Young for the Washington Wizards, and Gabe Pruitt for the Boston Celtics.

Young finished with an average of 14.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 27.8 minutes. His best game came on July 11th, when he scored 20 against the Pistons. Said the Washington Post of that city’s new swingman, “Young displayed NBA-level athleticism throughout the week but also struggled with decision-making; he finished with 16 turnovers.”

Pruitt managed just 5.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in just over 22 minutes a game. He had one game in double figures in points, scoring 14 against Milwaukee last Friday.
