Eligibility problems for new Trojan PG Johnson?
In an unconfirmed development, Scott Wolf is reporting that incoming Trojan point guard Angelo Johnson may not qualify academically to play for USC in the fall semester. He did not receive a high enough standardized test score to be approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse; however, with high enough grades in his summer courses, he may still be able to qualify with that same test score. Johnson would also have a chance to improve his test score during the fall and try to gain admittance to USC for the spring semester.
The speedy 5′10″ guard out of Minneapolis was expected to provide some much-needed depth at the point behind freshman OJ Mayo and sophomore Daniel Hackett. He played last season at Stoneridge Prep with fellow incoming Trojan Mamadou Diarra.
