Scott Wolf is reporting that Lawrence Miles is no longer on the Trojan football team, freeing a scholarship for use by someone else. In typical Wolf fashion, no source for the information or cause of the departure is named, and there is no confirmation elsewhere yet, although the departure has been rumored for some time and Miles’ name is conspicuously absent from the USC media guide posted online. Part of the class of 2004, the fourth-year junior defensive lineman has had academic and injury issues over the past few years, and was buried on the depth chart at tackle as a result.
