Stanley Havili video interview: summer workouts

Garry Paskwietz of WeAreSC.com interviewed second-year Fullback Stanley Havili about a month into summer workouts. Havili commented that the freshman have been steady, the tempo has been fast, and that “Coach Carlisle’s workouts are killing us, man, so we get better.” Havili tells Paskwietz that he learned a lot from Brandon Hancock and Ryan Powdrell, notably that “you’ve gotta be hard nosed, you gotta want to hit. You can’t shy away from contact.” On the blocking side of things, Havili responded:

I’m still getting adjusted. It’s real hard. We call it surgery… I’m still getting used to it.

Speaking of Trojan fullbacks, Scott Wolf reports that “[i]t looks like fullback Joy Adewale will remain a normal student and not return to the football team this season.”, a development which would leave the team with Havili, incoming freshmen Jordan Campbell and Cooper Stephenson at the position when training camp begins.
