ESPN.com names USC’s football schedule 4th toughest
In compiling his list of college football’s toughest schedules for 2008, ESPN.com’s Marc Schlabach recognizes USC’s pair of formidable non-conference foes (Nebraska, Notre Dame) and its rigorous road conference schedule (Oregon, Cal and Arizona State) in designating its schedule the 4th toughest nationally.
Three USC opponents also make the toughest list: Washington (1st), UCLA (9th), and Notre Dame (10th), and, notably, while no Pac-10 teams made ESPN’s list of the 10 easiest schedules, the Big-12 conference has the not-so-proud distinction of having three of the 10 easiest roads to New Orleans.

This just reinforces the sentiment that LSU coach Les Miles had no clue what he was talking about when he was describing how weak the Pac-10 was compared to the SEC. There aren’t too many easy games for Pac-10 teams, in or out of conference. (Although USC-Idaho might be an exception.)
