Highly-recruited Class of 2006 linebacker Josh Tatum, who did not play for the Trojans during his freshman season last year, is transferring out of USC according to Scott Wolf, Rivals’ Gerard Martinez, and other unofficial sources. He is also unlisted in USC’s 2007 Media Guide, which seems like official confirmation to us. Both Wolf and Martinez indicated that they cannot give details about Tatum’s reasons for leaving at the moment, which has led to rumors that the decision was medical in nature (with the emphasis on “rumors”).

Tatum was listed third on the depth chart at WLB behind Keith Rivers and Kaluka Maiava.
